Cornwall’s green homes event

Have you ever thought about making green improvements to your home but needed ideas or more information?

West Country Community Renewables are running a Green Open Homes weekend on May 22nd to 24th where householders who have made energy and environmental improvements, large or small, are opening their doors to share their experience and their homes with other local people interested in installing green home improvements.

“Many community groups around the country have run open home events over recent years and there’s been lot of interest in how we how people have improved their home’s energy efficiency and what difference different technologies have made.” said Rob Pickering, the event’s Co-ordinator. “You only have to think back to the last time you tried a new place to eat, or bought something new, to know that it’s really valuable to get the opinion of someone who has already tried it as they’ll be able to give you honest feedback on the benefits and savings as well as any challenges or considerations to bear in mind.”

Fellow organiser Abbie Brook said: “Over the weekend we’ll be showcasing a range of homes with all types of improvements, from properties who have installed an energy efficient log burner or carried out simple draught proofing measures to those who have invested in technology such as renewable energy systems and electric vehicles, so whatever improvements you may be considering there should be an ‘open home’ available to suit you.”.

Tickets for West Cornwall Green Homes are free and can be pre-booked using our online booking system.
