Yesterday the representatives of Cornwall’s top tourism businesses travelled up to Newcastle for the Visit England National tourism awards. Having worked closely with Bosinver Farm Cottages, we were watching the night unfold, as we were as excited as they were to find out how they had done. In 2013, Pat and Dave were selected for the national awards, returning with a ‘Highly Commended’ award. Whilst everyone around them was proud of the hard work and achievement, Pat and Dave were spurred on to work even harder and achieve the highest accolade possible – a gold award.
So, as the #VEawards2015 tweets streamed in, we were keeping track of the results, looking out for the businesses representing the South West, and Cornwall, waiting with excitement for Bosinver’s result. Pat and Dave have worked tirelessly over the years to build a reputation as a leading light in the industry, always coming up with new ideas for their own business, but also, keen to support others. They have been involved with COAST, led by Manda Brookman, working for a more sustainable tourism industry in Cornwall, and are always on the lookout for opportunities to support small business in Cornwall, keeping it local. So, I’m sure everyone who knows them will know that they truly deserve the Gold award they will be returning to Cornwall with today.
Having worked so closely with Bosinver, to develop sustainability, we have seen first-hand how much effort and enthusiasm it takes to develop an award winning business such as theirs, so we know that the other businesses returning to Cornwall with their well deserved awards will have dedicated an equal amount of time and effort to their own businesses.
We are lucky to live in a county with such dedicated and hard working business owners, supporting our local economy and representing Cornwall.
