One of the city’s priorities is to be a“green, sustainable city that caresabout the environment”.The Council already has well over 1 MWp of solar PV on its buildings
Plymouth City Council has declared a climate emergency and has pledged to be carbon-neutral by 2030. This, coupled with a need to reduce operating costs has prompted the desire to install further solar PV on council buildings.
We designed & delivered a 94kW Solar PV installation on the top deck of a live car park in a city centre location. The system was electrically and mechanically designed to maximise potential output from the small carpark roof footprint and to make provision for additional solar capacity up to 200kW for the next stage of works. ZLC worked alongside the local DNO engineers to reroute the incoming main supply to the carpark and upgrade the facilities’ electrical infrastructure with minimal disruption. ZLC were chosen for theworks following a quality led competitive tendering process.
