Bedruthan Steps Hotel is a luxury 5-star hotel overlooking the beautifulbeach at Mawgan Porth. With consistent year-round occupancy, the hotel has a significant electricity demand. The team at Bedruthan is very committed to carbon reduction and keen to retrofit appropriate technologies to help reduce their carbon footprint and reduce their running costs.
What was their goal?
To install a system that was flexible to maintenance on the flat roofs of thefacility, that would not impact the visual appearance of the hotel, thatwould reduce the electricity costs and carbon footprint of the hotel, and could be installed without disruption to their expectant guests and in advance of a major Feed in Tariff degression.
How did we help?
We designed and installed an east-west system that generates energy to meet peak demand in the hotel, maximised the use of available roof space, and enabled a low-profile mounting system for aesthetics and reduced wind load issues at this exposed site.
