Solar Installer / Site supervisor

Aims of this job

  • To support the Operations Manager with Site-level management of ZLC Energy renewable energy installations
  • To schedule work, supervise and monitor site teams responsible for the installation and commissioning of all types of on-site renewable energy systems
  • To supervise the planning, installation and commission all types of on-site renewable energy (microgeneration) systems

Key duties

  • Supervise a site team or teams (depending on scale) installing and managing the installation and integration of renewable energy systems on commercial properties.
  • Materials and Logistics Planning
  • Labour Planning
  • Project Control
  • Contract Management
  • Budgetary Control
  • Ensure all personnel, tools, access equipment, safety equipment, products and materials required to complete the installation are available on site and on time.
  • Ensure that all work is completed to company quality standards and within the scope
  • Ensure all work is undertaken within the current health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through constant attention to detail and monitoring of site practice.
  • Ensure all teams understand and use on site documentation
  • To provide accurate and timely reports and paperwork.

Safe Working

  • To undertake risk assessments and to ensure that it is safe to work
  • To bring any risks to the attention of the company management and if necessary to halt work until safe to do so

Preparation

  • To ensure that all paperwork is available and that it has been reviewed and understood before setting out to site

Installation & Commission.

Ensure that all teams comply with the following:-

  • To undertake all necessary pre-installation checks
  • To liaise with client, other trades and third parties as indicated on work instructions
  • To identify any changes to scope and report back to office as early as possible
  • If requested to do so, to record any changes to scope
  • To install equipment in line with company standards and current regulations
  • To complete all post installation & commissioning checks

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year

Commercial Electrician (Renewable Energy Systems)

Please note: Starting salary will reflect experience of applicant.

Aims of this job

· To plan, oversee, install and commission commercial on-site renewable energy and energy efficient systems

Key duties
· Working with a team or teams installing and possibly managing the installation and integration of renewable energy systems into commercial properties including:

  • Solar PV
  • Ground and air source heat pumps
  • EV Chargers
  • Energy Storage Systems

· Collaborating with the design team to improve the buildability and practicality of our installations

· Collaborate across the team to innovate and improve our services.

· Project management, procurement & programming installation works

Safe Working

· To undertake risk assessments and to ensure that it is safe to work

· To bring any risks to the attention of the company management and if necessary to halt work until safe to do so

Preparation & Reporting
· To ensure all paperwork is available and that it has been reviewed and understood before setting out to site

· Complete all necessary job sheets, time sheets and other documentation as required

Installation & Commission
· To undertake all necessary pre-installation checks

· To liaise with client, other trades and third parties as indicated on work instructions

· To identify any changes to scope and report back to line manager as early as possible

· If requested to do so, to record any changes to scope as agreed by line manager

· To install equipment in line with company standards and current regulations

· To complete all post installation & commissioning checks

Care of equipment
· To keep in good working order any tools, equipment or vehicles supplied by the company

· To report any faults, breakages or equipment failures to your line manager

Person profile Personality
· Self-driven, proactive and results-oriented with a positive outlook, a clear focus on quality and delivering value

· Reliable – must be punctual and ready to work as required

· Able to lead others and be a team-player
Knowledge, skills and qualifications

· Practical experience of commercial electrical work

· Good communication skills

· Understanding and experience of working to MCS standards (preferred)

· Ability to work in a team

· Ability to manage own time effectively

· Full driving licence

· Willingness to learn new skills and technologies

Desirable knowledge, skills and qualifications
One or more of:

· Part P Electrical qualification

· Electrical Inspection & Testing

· Practical experience or qualification in any renewable energy technology

· BPEC, Logic or National Occupational Standards qualified in renewable energy technologies

· C&G or NVQ level 2 or 3 in related discipline e.g. electrical

· Experience in a commercial environment

· Construction site experience

· Ability to read drawings and plans

· Computer literate

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £34,000.00 per year
