Congratulations to Fermoys Garden Centre who are celebrating thier success after winning several awards at the Garden Retail Awards, including Greenest Garden Centre – a fantastic achievement.
In April this year, we installed a 250 KWp Ground Mounted Solar PV system for Fermoys Garden Centre in Totnes. Fermoys aimed to control their rising energy costs and reduce energy and carbon by 10%. Our team assessed the feasibility of all carbon reduction solutions for Fermoys including biomass boilers, heat pumps and heat storage, efficient lighting, and energy storage. This led to the installation of a 250KW solar PV system and LED Lighting to offset energy use on site. Our next step will include renewable heating solutions.
The system is predicted to generate 253,000KWh of electricity and save 134Tonnes of Carbon Dioxide per year. This equates to the energy usage of 63 domestic households. Benefits for the client Fermoys will exceed their target by reducing energy and carbon by 15% plus benefiting from a healthy 20 % typical Return on Investment.
