About Trevarnon Farm

Trewithen Farm Dairies have been producing on the site at Greymare Farm since the 1980’s. A well-known brand in the South West and beyond, Trewithen supplies dairy products to high-demand, high-volume clients such as Asda. Committed to ‘Happy Healthy Cornish Cows’ and high environmental standards, they achieved a highly commended award for resource management at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards.

What was their goal?

As caretakers of the land, Trewithen Dairy and its farmers are committed to protecting the environment for future generations. Their goal was to address rising utility costs and ageing infrastructure, while reducing the business’s carbon footprint and enhancing its sustainability credentials.

How did we help?

Our team assessed the feasibility of all potential carbon-reduction solutions across the Farm and Dairy, including energy efficiency measures, water efficiency, and renewable energy options. From this, ZLC Energy has installed 150kW of ground-mounted Solar PV in 2015 and 600kW of roof-mounted Solar PV in 2024. The site has a grid connection challenge, which we have worked hard withWestern Power and the customer to resolve.
