400kW install for Exeter University: Calm during the storm

Cricket Centre Solar PV, Streatham Campus, University of Exeter

The University of Exeter declared Climate Emergency in 2019. Part of the declaration is an ambitious target to bring down its carbon emissions to Net Zero by 2030.

Their action plan includes Rooftop Solar PV installations across all their campuses.
ZLC Energy were awarded a framework contract to deliver this work over the coming years.

In February 2020, our team commenced Phase 1 of the Solar PV installations. We designed the installations for minimal interruption on a live campus. We also designed it with safe future maintenance in mind. Despite three named storms, our team installed 400kW of Solar PV across a diverse range of roofs. Our team withstood Storm Ciara, Storm Dennis, and Storm Jorge & no storm could not stop the ZLC spirit from delivering the project.

The team delivered to scope, on budget, and on time without disruption to the University, even accelerating completion ahead of the COVID19 lockdown.

We continue to design & gain approval for the remaining phases of work. We look forward to returning on the vibrant campuses for Phase 2 as soon as possible.

Until then, we here at ZLC Energy hope everyone is staying safe during these difficult times. We will be back installing more Solar PV and more energised than ever.
