One of the things we love about our work is that our customers are all different, with unique homes. We always like to take an individual approach to all our projects, as each person who comes to us will want something a little bit different.
Sometimes, the project requires carefully adding renewables to an older, well loved and comfortable home, taking care to leave no trace of the work undertaken. For others, the project will involve working together from the start on an exciting new build.
So, we were really excited when we recently heard from our customers Paul and Helen that thier amazing ‘lifetime home’ new build project had been shortlisted for this year’s RIBA House of the Year competition. Paul and Helen moved thier family to Feock to make the most of the wonderful Cornish landscape, and inspire thier children to develop a love of the outdoors.
In March our house won a RIBA South West award. We were delighted to have won and weren’t expecting the subsequent news that Gillanglaze (Owers House) had made the long list for one of architecture’s most prestigious awards, the RIBA ‘House of the Year’ 2016.
Our thanks to you all for your support on the project. It couldn’t have been done without you.
With very best wishes
Paul and Helen
We worked with them and thier architects to install solar PV and solar thermal on thier modern home overlooking the creek.
The Owers House will be featured in this Thursday’s Grand Designs on Channel 4 at 9PM.
We wish the Owers all the best in the competition.
